Our research group is growing! We currently have multiple open positions at the MS, PhD and Postdoc levels. Read on for more information:

Postdoc in Large-Scale Hydrology and Regional Runoff Models

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral researcher. The successful candidate will conduct research in large-scale hydrology and regional runoff models. The position contributes to several areas of ongoing research including, but not limited to: simulating historical runoff in the Nile basin and simulating soil moisture for selected large watersheds in the US. The candidate will also be encouraged to develop their own research questions.

Requirements Ph.D in Civil Engineering, physical geography or related fields; strong written and oral communication skills; proven record of high productivity.

Desired Skills Experience in gridded hydrologic models (e.g. VIC), climate model output, and statistics preferred.

Application Process

The position is available as early as January 1, 2021 or starting in Summer 2021, for the duration of one year, with extension to a second year, depending on satisfactory performance and funding availability.

Interested candidates should provide an application package as a single pdf containing:

MS in Hydraulic Modeling and Flooding

Announcing an open position for a funded M.S. as part of the ongoing ORACL (Olentangy River as Campus Laboratory) project. Research will be focused on developing 1 or 2-dimensional flood models from drone-based surveys with uncertainty.

Desired skills, but not required, include experience with open channel hydraulics, hydrology, and Hec-Ras.

PhD in Hydrology, Water Resources, and Climate

The successful candidate will conduct research in the broad areas of hydrology, water resources, and climate with a particular focus on climate extremes and novel statistical methods or algorithms.

Application Process

If interested and for more details, please contact me with a CV at stagge.11@osu.edu.

Our department is currently accepting applications for Spring 2021, with final applications due Oct 26. If not filled, these positions may be available in Fall 2021. For full application details and deadlines please see https://ceg.osu.edu/degrees/cegsp-admissions.
