2024-2025 CEGE ConNEXT seminar series
On February 5, 2025, I had the opportunity to present at OSU Civil, Environmental and Geodetic Engineering department’s CONNEXT seminar series. This is a quarterly, virtual event designed to showcase new research within CEGE to the public.
From the invitation:
Dr. Stagge will describe how climate change impacts the hydrologic cycle, affecting the seasonality of precipitation and intensifying extremes like drought and flood. He will describe how centuries of reconstructed climate using tree-rings can be linked with modern observations and climate model simulations to show how precipitation and streamflow has changed over the last century. He will touch on how his group is reconstructing climate disruptions in the Nile 2,000 years ago. His talk will ultimately bring focus back to Ohio and the Midwest, describing the “new normal” under climate change.
I had a great time and we had a good discussion afterwards about climate change, water, and the state of Ohio. Thank you to those that joined and to the CEGE department for putting on this event!
